so even though i am a fair way through the process of the kate miller video clip i still cant crack the way to draw kate..till this morning...twas funny it was watching enchanted last night that i realised that the best way to draw kate was in a classic disney sense but with a inner city edge...weird insperation..i know but i wont bawlk at it ..where ever it comes from

well here it is..finished yesterday...fingers crossed the band likes it...it reminds me very much of a wes anderson poster and it uses some of the best blues i've ever used..as weird as it is..im pleased with how it turned out

back in the saddle

so its been a few days since the birth of my son and its been a bit of a roller coaster ride...but today i fronted back up to work..aka my drawing table and computer and started work again..this time for a poster for crooked fiddle and waiting for guiness ( who have have a special place in my life )

so the finished version will probably be up within the next day but heres my coloured sketch for the main image..

but mary and joseph knew they were pregnant...i'm seeing him for the
first time today and i'm very nervous..what do you say to your son for the
first time...

its an idea thats been there for a while and could have worked on atleast 3 0r
four of the bands i do work for but im glad its been used on deadletter..its seems the most them..ps dont read into it too much..i dont think all couples should be shot..

here's a couple of shitty web cam pics from my computer screen to show where i am at today...so the renee cd booklet is 99.5 % complete and the good news came in today that she has been signed up to universal ( i think ) ..twas a bit hectic this morning getting it done so jake could go off to the meeting with it..( it was a case of ultra high gear for about 40 minutes--the kind wherre you dont even go to the bathroom even though you really need to)

short update

spent most of the day working on the renee cd booklet...felt relieved when it dawned on me that the cd had gone in a different direction from what i originally intended and had worked out for the better ...a friend said i work best when i take complicated art works and make them look very simple...in this case it was definately the right formula

so i have been mister animation for weeks and weeks now so it felt really great to be asked not once but twice on the same day to do posters for both sui zhens melbourne gig and the small hours...so the story with this poster is that due to my hermitude o late the only streets i really see is the street that leads down to the corner store and every time i go down its always covered completely in fallen autumn leaves ...so this image came from a silly thought of sailing down the leafy street but that idea was not enough so i had to put these young sea men in peril ..what better way to do that than a big scary leaf monster..but dont be scared..the captain has a rake..anyways more soon

its been a crazy couple of days doing battle with toothaches , too many panadols and on top of that getting really sick but despite the downfall of my body and mind i have cut together a trailer for the kate miller video clip i have been working on for months....for me my proudest moment is the snow footage..anyways..enjoy

so..to add pressure to an already pressured situation sony has asked me to have a trailer cut together by friday for the kate miller video...sure it was my suggestion but it could not have come at a more pressured time when i have two posters that need doing and the completion of the renee booklet aswell as ruths mums business card...i love it , kinda , being this popular but it is beginning to take its toll on me ( very prophetic seeing i started all this because of a song called the toll )
..im starting to feel like a bit of a prisoner in my room these days and its giving me the jitters ( literally ..my anxiety attacks have come back ) anyways it should all work out and it could be worse......imagine if i had been selected for jury duty

so i have sent the first draft of to renee and her people and they loved it ..phew..so a few fix ups and the front cover should be on itunes within a few days..its a very different style for me...which feels great...keeps my creativity limbre...it will be a 10 page book which is pretty big for an EP but im happy to comply..plus Renee is one of the most supportive people i have worked with...

oh been doing a little work with darren hanlon to help out with his label..he's
a great person to have in your corner and also as per usual the KMH video clip just keeps getting bigger...the big daddy sequence should be done soon and i will be sure to post that
